In the Iraq since the US invasion in March 2003 according to data of the organization “reporters without borders” so far 200 of medium people were killed. 80 per cent of it are Iraqis. By the murder at Anwar Abbas Lafta, a translator, that worked for the US transmitter CBS, the number of the journalists and medium coworkers died in the Iraq by force to 200 rose, explained the organization on Friday in Bagdad.
Laftas corpse had been found on Monday; the translator had been kidnapped five days before in the Iraqi capital. However since beginning of the year 49 medium coworkers died. Scarcely three quarters since March 2003 of the killed medium coworkers were selected consciously as a goal, continued to communicate the organization. “That is much more as in previous wars, than journalist above all victim from Kollateralschäden and transverse racquets became”, stressed “reporters without borders”.
Most medium workers were killed with 110 cases in Bagdad and the environment of the capital (34 cases). In the north Iraq 45 medium coworkers died, particularly by force in the cities Mossul and Kirkuk. Iraqi journalists were killed mostly by insurgent groups. Others came into the cross fire.
