The Israeli Secretary of Defense and former Prime Minister Ehud Barak see the Lebanese Shiite organization Hisbollah militarily stronger than more than before the Israeli Lebanon offensive one year ago. The Hisbollah militia supported by Iran has today clearly more weapons than before beginning of the 34-Tage-Krieges, described Barak after data from participant circles of Tuesday before members outside and defense policy committee of the Israeli parliament in Jerusalem.
From the war in July and August 2006 with more than 1200 Lebanese and 160 Israeli dead ones the Hisbollah had politically strengthened followed. In Israel the weapon course had released a heavy crisis: General staff boss Dan Halutz, the architect of the military operation, and Secretaries of Defense and vice-Prime Minister Amir Peretz lost therefore their offices. The Israeli army had not succeeded in achieving their avowed goals: the release of two kidnapped soldiers and smashing the Hisbollah.
